Transportation & Refrigeration
When you become a client, you are emailed a detailed list of instruction on how to handle your placenta from birth till time of pick up. Before I leave with your placenta, the ice level is checked and then immediately brought to my work space refrigerator. There is no chance of the placenta to be in the temperature danger zone with my handling practices.
Work Space Practices
Before encapsulation begins, the entire area is washed and sanitized with commercial sanitizer Ecolab Oasis 146 Sanitizer Multi Quat. Medical grade pads are laid down & the entire area is covered. There is no chance of your placenta coming into contact with a direct surface. I have a separate work area designated for just my placenta work. My space has its own kitchen counter, refrigerator & sink. It is completely separate from my living areas, but still in my home so I can keep a close eye during the dehydration time.
Reusable Equipment Is Properly Disinfected
Most of my equipment is used one time, just for your placenta. This includes: cutting boards, cutting utilizes, blender & bowls. The scale, dehydrator & capsule machine is washed and sanitized between each use. What is used: A EPA-registered sanitizer for use on food prep surfaces and ware called Ecolab Oasis 146 Sanitizer Multi Quat and can be also be found in use at commercial locations such as hospitals, restaurants & hotels.
One Placenta At A Time Policy
When choosing my work space for encapsulation, I work with only ONE placenta at a time. Each placenta is labeled, documented & photographed. With this practice, it ensures there will never be a mix up with placentas.
